Leo Season Mood Board

Welcome to Leo season and the most unhinged edition of our astrological season mood boards! The sun is bright and you’re either reflecting that light back into the world or you’re burning up and burning out. Take this season as an opportunity to practice the gifts of the lion sign and be seen in all your glory. And if you need some visual inspiration, well that’s what I’m here for.

Barbie summer this, Brat summer that, I wanna talk about Little Guy summer. T-shirts, phone charms, plushies, figures. The little guys are taking over as we return to the symbols we chose to identify us in our childhood.

A symbol or an icon is an inherently Leo concept as the visual and visible representation of personal and cultural identity. Plus they’re cute and so are Leos.

This illustration of them is by Sophia Ren of Reno Graphics.

It is now occurring to me that I might associate symbols of 90s girlhood with Leo because of growing up in the 90s with a Leo older sister.

Up next are these cutie patootie old iridescent Hallmark unicorn stickers that are out of circulation. To me they speak to that glimmer that Leo and 1st house placements give, you can tell when someone walks in a room, they just have a way about them that’s beautiful and shiny and rare.

In planning this post, a creator came to mind based on a few videos of hers that popped up on my discover feed. Imagine my surprise and delight when I looked her up and discovered her name is Solar! Ruled by the sun and associated with hair care and self expression, our Leo mood board would not be complete without highlighting this artist. See more of her hair sculpture creations at @shesasolarbeing on instagram.

As a big fan of the western trends that have been circulating the past year (and will continue for a few years more), I found myself stopping by the BootBarn before a family wedding.

I was stunned, floored, gagged, and flabbergasted when I arrived at the woman’s section and found cow boy boots in every color and pattern imaginable. Seeing rainbow leather lined up so perfectly tickled something in my brain and I’m still thinking about it months later.

So this element of the post is not about boots specifically, but about the experience of going to buy something and facing a full spectrum of choices for self expression- the greatest gift of Leo.

I would love to hear from you about what you would add to the Leo Mood Board and why! Email me at torijstrong@gmail.com with your feedback and thoughts! Shine bright! Be loud! Be hot! And clap when your Leo bestie enters the room.
